Anomalies of the scalp

Anomalies of the scalp are identified with examination by touch and with the micro camera.

- If the scalp is delicate pink, elastic, mildly shiny, devoid of deposits we consider it to be a healthy scalp.

- If the scalp is white, inelastic we consider blood-circulation problems.

- If the scalp is pink, swollen, sensitive, oedematous and goes pale on pressure by fingers, the therapist aim is to increase blood-circulation and detoxify the scalp.

- If the scalp is dark pink, red, sensitive, irritated, inflamed and painful, the therapist suggests using soothing products until this state disappears but should not use products that increase blood circulation.

- If the scalp is white, matt, inelastic, stretched, itches or scaly, this suggests that it is deficient in water and nutriments.

- If the scalp is shiny, covered by gelatinous layer, the follicles are wide and the scalp is thin, sometimes the capillary vessels are seen; use of calming products are recommended.

- If the scalp is greyish, white, matt and scaly we consider problems of hydration.

- If the scalp is grey, with wrinkles, soft and sensitive at touch indicates the premature oldness of the scalp.
